Lot of great info here from all the responses. I bought a Maguires set up when I was at Sema about five years ago. It was $200, came with microfiber pads and foam pads(microfiber for heavier cutting) I use their pink correction compound on heavy swirls, followed by Maguires polish then Maguires wax. The polish will take care of small swirls then it needs a protectant, so your choice of wax or ceramic. It’s effective, harder to burn through a clear coat than a high speed buffer, doesn’t create the heat of a high speed either. I use a LED light to follow the scratches till I have them gone as it highlights them better. I am not a pro but have had great results I color sanded from 800 to 2500 on my bike fender to get out pits from the seat suction cups. About 10 minutes with the pink correction compound, 2 minutes polish, then we added a clear bra over it.
