The car has almost 40k miles on it and outside of opg, crank sprocket, and head studs the engine is OEM.</p><p></p><p>Your cost of 2500 to r2 the engine is dead on. I do think the quote of 10k to build your existing block is a little high but then again they could be using top tier components and sleeving it. You can always sell your working gen 1 engine to recoup some of the money or leave it laying around for a spare.</p><p></p><p>If you are not doing the work yourself I would highly consider building the trans while it's all out. Most shops drop the entire k member with engine and trans as one unit.
