Here is a confusing issues. I'm looking at upgrading the air inlet side of the engine. My first thoughts were to go with a cold air intake system like the MAC. I was thinking that I could start with the stock MAF, then upgrade to a larger MAF (like the the Pro-M 75mm)and still use the Mac cold air kit.
Now I see that C&L has a 76mm kit that includes the MAF, a "TrueFlo" inlet pipe (that goes between the MAF and the throttle body), and it comes with a K&N filter with a shield that directs air from the fender well to the filter.
The C&L literature specifically says not to use their MAF with cold air induction or ram air systems as it throws off their MAF calibration (due to the bends in the pipe ahead of the MAF?).
Can any of you provide any direction? Which of these setups works the best on our cars?
