[QUOTE="Silver2003Cobra, post: 11832627, member: 3143"] there's quite a few variants of the SN95 Mustang.. 94/95 have the 5.0 V8, pushrod engine 215 hp 285 torque. , designed in the late 50's and introduced in 1962 in 221 cubes.. great engine, a lot of aftermarket parts. 96-98 GT have the 4.6 SOHC designed to match the power and torque of the 5.0 it replaced. 215 hp 285 torque in 96, 225 hp/290 torque in 97/98. Also the 99-04 is the "New Edge" Mustang, but still a SN95 chassis 99-04 GT have the same 4.6 SOHC, but with PI heads and make quite abit more power. 260 hp 302 ft lbs torque. 94/95 Cobra has the same 5.0 in the GT, but with better heads, intake etc.. rated at 240 hp / 285 ft lbs torque.. 96-98 Cobra has the 4.6 DOHC, rated 305 hp/ 300 torque 99/01 Cobra also has the 4.6 DOHC, but with tumble port heads, for a better fuel/air mixing, rated 320 hp / 317 torque. Also the 99/01 Cobra have IRS, some people hate it, others love it.. 03/04 Cobra same 4.6 DOHC but with major revisions. Cast iron block vice aluminum in the earlier Cobras. They came with 112 cubic inch Eaton Gen IV superchargers and rated 390 hp/390 torque, but very under rated.. (closer to 440 hp 430 torque taking what they made stock at the wheels) T-56 6 speed transmission since the earlier 5 speeds available couldn't handle the torque the Terminators produced. as far as reliability, at stock levels any of the above engines are good for a couple hundred thousand miles with regular maintenance, some have over 300K and counting..
