Pops had a 69 AMX with the 390, says that was a really fun car. He tells a story of his dad driving it once. Apparently his dad downshifted and goosed it to pass someone, said the car swapped ends on him. When he got back he threw him the keys and said that the car was too much Haha. He also tells a story that that's the car he tried to teach his first wife to drive stick on. She couldn't budge the clutch an inch with just her left foot. He said, "use both feet, when you feel the friction point, gently slide your foot to the gas and give it some." She tries, lets out too quick, car starts bucking to stall, she reaches over and MASHES the gas. Car roars, she freaks out and locks up, foot still to the floor, car spinning donuts to the left. Pops is pinned to the passenger side door, doing everything he can to reach the shifter or the keys, 390 pinging out way above the red line. He finally reaches the keys and kills it. He ends that one with "She never tried to drive stick again and that car smoked and never ran right after that." I miss my 2001 Cobra all the time. My neighbors had to hate me with LTs, off road x, 3" pipe from headers back... Sent from my SM-G930T using the svtperformance.com mobile app
