Its been a few years since I have joined a conversation here. I will try to be as non-controversial as i can with this. This is not the America I grew up with and loved. I love my country very much, however our country has become big government and big money. Thats all that runs our country. I'm retired so I can pretty much speak what I want without the risk of losing my employment. Saying that alone hurts, our country was founded on having freedoms that did not come with repercussions. Such as free speech. Now people are forced to conform or risk losing everything because their ideas and opinions do not align with others. To have to worry that your business title will lead in your personal life. To be-enslaved is truly what that is. We should not live in fear for sharing our views. It should not automatically be assumed because we voted for a person that we support all of their views and all of the words that leave their mouth. America has decided to quite using critical thinking and has resorted to knee-jerking. I voted for someone because I agreed with some of their platforms ideas and I disagreed with the other parties. In a truly free nation I should be able to do that without worry. Without living in fear that my work will find out I am a republican or a Democrat and take action against me. I will say this softly so I do not offend others, Americans have become weak. We have allowed and enabled our government to grow to the point that the control us. We have allowed tech companies to use business and business law to help restrict our 1st Amendment rights. No American should be silenced, ever. We have allowed this, all of us. The pot is warming up to a boil as we sit in it. Lets not let it boil. Lets not let big business and politics take away our freedoms. Lets not be afraid to voice our thoughts and ideas and concerns. Many people before us have given everything without fear or remorse in order to speak the truth, in order to combat a wrong in order to make a right for everyone. That is the American way> Our people need courage, integrity and unity. Hope I didnt ruffle any feathers.
