Would those S197's have T56's and an options 800hp +6L engine? Fox 1979 - 1993 : 14 years SN 1994-2004 : 10 Years S197 2005-2014 : 9 years S550 2015.... +5 years Challenger 2008 - 2022, 14 years How long did Ford milk the Panther and Ranger Platforms? FCA has no money. They broke. But they took that situation and their busted ass LX platform that dates back to 1999 and have made it work. The car maybe old but it's constant updates and tweaks have kept it relevant and competitive. The size is much a detriment as it is a positive. I blasted across the country in my 1320 and could not have picked a better car for it. They are fantastic daily drivers, look great and offer comparable performance for less money. Also, being a retro style car, nothing FCA does will make people any happier. Just look at the Camaro and Mustang. The 6th Gen DESTROYS the 5th in every measurable way, but the smaller size and modern styling tanked sales. The S550 has also had its ass kicked by the S197 in terms of sales. Yearly Averages S197 102k S550 90k G5 Camaro 81k G6 Camaro 60k Compare that to the Challenger Gen 1 (08-14) - 45k Gen 2 (15-19) - 65k Challenger increases by 50% while the others dropped by 10% and 25% while investing hundreds of millions in new tooling. So tell me, who's the idiot that's out of touch with what consumers want? Want me to buy a next Gen Charger or Challenger? That design better start by using the original tooling for the '68 Charger sheet metal. I'm not going to be interested in a turbo-4 plug-in hybrid with a CVT transmission and touch less lift gate with folding rear seats for 7.
