Hey guys I have an 03 with 94k on it. I have had it for about 3 months not driven a lot. I did an oil change on it a few weeks ago and switched to valvoline max life 5w30 with a motorcraft filter and since then I have noticed a start up noise almost like something in the timing system. I'm not sure if it's always been there and now I'm just hearing it or what, is this pretty common on these trucks? I owned a 98 4.6L but didn't have it for this many miles. Or could it be the weight I wouldn't think a 30 viscosity oil would cause this because they are both 5w at start up.

Might be a little thick for the timing chain tensioner to pump up initially.
