A reliable 9 second car is not cheap, nor a quick process. A cheap, quick built 9 second fox will become a $15k money pit in short order. I love how people forget about cooling, fuel, electrical, fi system, tuning etc. Just because a very hands on, very knowledgable gear head can put together a 9 second car for $10-15k in used/sourced parts does not many anybody else can do it. It's like remodeling a home. Can it be done head to toe for $25k? Absolutely. Luxury tile floors, beautiful cabinets and all. Just don't plan to spend less than 60 hours a week, and do it all yourself. Oh, you are awful with a table saw and know f*ck all about electrical? Eh who cares. A tv show said it can be done so just go for it! Back to reality, Dodge just terminated the discussion. Period. This is the Jekle and Hide car. You can go to the track on Saturday, and go to church on Sunday. This is a car people like John Colleti build. Is dodge going to price it like Colletti? Arguably yes, arguably no. Frankly I see it a great value in the $75-85k range. It has a 5 year warranty, the seats and radio are $1 options if I read an article correctly. Yeah. It's big boy money. It's not iroc Z (great cars honestly) or 5.0 money. Who can honestly talk shit though? The thing runs 9.60's and it's a full size muscle car around 4,000lbs... I was wanting it to hit a 9.90@140 because I could tell how hard they were pushing it, and working it. I'm happy as hell for them getting it to a 9.65. Hell I hope they run a 9.50 in a mineshaft for the bragging rights. This car had one job and it did it. Value wise, a pristine one in the rarist color with the right options will be worth $5-10 million in 40 years. Inflation and all, call it $50m. You think people thought a convertible plum crazy cuda with an auto and wood dash would be worth $6m 50 years later? Please. That car was $4500ish brand new.
