Well ordered a couple rims to put drag radials on. Stock chrome cobra rims 17X9. Just trying to see what size tires I can fit. Was looking at Nitto drag radials 275/40R-17, but wondered if anyone has tried the 315/35R-17's on 9" rims. Do they fit on the rim and on the car. Thanks for any inputs.

They fit with no issues as long as you keep more than 20# of air in them. If you drop your air pressure to less than 20 or so for traction at the track they will rub on the bolt of the inside of the tire. A 1/4" spacer will fix that. I've had the pressure down to 11-12# without rubbing with the spacers in.

I've had my Nitto's for a couple of months and a dozen or so 1/8 mile track passes and no problems on stock rims.

The MT Drag radials in 275/40/17 will fit great and hook up a lot better than the nittos..
