Ill go through my issues with both recently. One my wife owns and one my brother in law owns. 2015 Edge Sport: 1. First truck we bought had a recall and buy back due to mold from body sealing issues. Ford gave us a fully loaded version for an even swap. 2. New Edge Sport great until 28,000 mile and has oil pan leak. Motor replaced under warranty. 3. Replace rear brake pads at 30k miles. Frozen rotors to hub. Replaced rotors. 4. Sync 2 starting to act up and not recognizing the voice commands for the phone. A/C and radio talk to change still works good. 5. Tires are going to be replaced soon(at the wear bars) and the 265/40R21's are $1500 a set minimum for some cheaper tires.. A summer only tire set will run more than $2,000 without balancing. Expensive wheel/tire package for a $48k SUV. The 20" option was the better choice for this. 2013 Grand Cherokee Laredo: 1. BIL bought it brand new from dealer. Brought it home and went back the next day for CEL on for catalytic converter. Replaced cat under warranty. 2. 3k miles in and he gets another CEL for catalytic converter failure. Replaced cat under warranty. 3. Recall for brake calipers. Replaced all 4 calipers and out for 2 weeks. 4. Recall for headliner. Also recall for fuel pump. 5. Recall again for headliner and sun visors. 6. Recall for ABS module. Out for more than a month waiting on parts. 7. 15k mile and CEL for catalytic converter failure. Replaced cat again under warranty. 8. Recall on engine for wrist pin failure. Extended warranty on engine to 10yrs/150k miles. BIL happy. 9. Transmission started slipping at 22k miles. Brought in, reprogrammed and returned. Issue went away. 10. ABS light at 35k miles. Replace ABS module under warranty. 11. Recall again for headliner, fuel pump and sun visors. 55k miles. 12. Replaced wheel bearings in front for noise. Also replaced EVAP purge valve for intermittent code. Has not come back. 57k miles. 13. Fuel pump causing start/stop issues and idle miss. Replaced again. 60k miles. 14. Seat motor up/down adjustment stopped working. Replaced. 90k miles. 15. Currently truck is at 115k without any more issues. We think the fuel pump is acting up once in a while again as he continues to get a stutter/idle fluctuation when coming to a stop. The Jeep has caused more problems then it is worth. He is going to drive it until the 150k mile mark and dump it.
