Since I am new to the Mustang mod possibilities, can someone point me to a "lesson/description/primer" on the differences between axle back, cat back, h-pipe/x-pipe, and full exhaust benefits? I am also interested in the merits/pitfalls of ceramic coating the headers before I install them.

So far, I am leaning towards either a full Borla or full Stainless Works setup including long tube headers (ceramic coated)...but I want to know why that is a good idea (or not). I don't want obnoxious loud, but better sound and performance as I do other things (CAI, Pully, Tune...to start).

I would expect that I have to tune the car again with the new exhaust...any recommendations on a good SEMI tuner?

Any comments welcome...

alxe back is for the 05+.

Catback replaces everythinrg after the cats (mufflers tips ect)

H-Pipe you can get catted or catless H-pipe has more of a classic rumble but you sacriface ~2whp vs a X-pipe

X-pipe is more of a exotic sound, and not as agressive as h-pipe but can give ~2whp more, also available in catted or cat-less

Power gains depend on teh car and other mods obviously.
