This was my first day with Jim Farley as CEO at Ford. It was a pretty great day. I got to take my 1970 Torino GT into the Ford Product Development Center (where I work) and celebrate the history of the design courtyard, which will be destroyed for the new building that will be started at the end of the year. I am actually very glad to have Jim take the reins as CEO, he walked around through all the cars that showed up and took time to talk to the owners. I noticed how he was actually bringing up engine's, specs, and design related terms. I had heard he was a "car guy," but now I can totally tell and especially when I got to talk to him for a few minutes about my car. The three years under Hackett were treacherous working for Ford. We had a massive restructuring and everyone feared for their jobs for close to 2 years and the results afterwards have just been kind of annoying. Hackett was a numbers financial guy and he didn't even know what kind of engine was in the Mustang. I think we will be in much better hands.
