An "option" to purchase the "one of the first" production 2005 Shelby GT500 will be auctioned off at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Ariz. auction on Jan 21, 2006.
The proceeds of the auction will benefit Shelby's childrens heart foundation. The GT500 will be displayed from Jan 14 at the site. According to SVT, the car displayed will be not be the car that will be unveiled at Detroit...It will probably be one of the pre-production prototype cars shown during the year.....The actual car will be delivered to the option winner when the normal production starts, hopefully mid-year 2006....I will send over any new info I hear about the auction, when it is verified......Of course, us "average" Ford customers who are supposed to get our "Powerlease Options" are still in the dark about our options, over a year after we were supposed to receive them.
