Saw this linked off Motor Trend forums. Have enough buttons?:dw:

I hope they have some nice looking center stack that will frame that because that's not looking too good. And what's with the small a$$ screen.

They could simply be using take off parts from other cars. We really have no idea what they are really evaluating.

OP relax. Its obviously an extremely hacked up and slopped together test car. If you really think thats the final design you are nuts. Car wont be out for 2 more years, no way its finalized yet

The question is now that Ford wants the mustang in a global market are they going to use bit out of their parts bin of cars like the focus that have sold well in Europe or keep a mustang only kind of design?

Judging from projected changes to the exterior of the mustang ford is working on bring the mustang back to a "ford" DNA. Previously the mustang has enjoyed unique design ques from the test of ford. The '15 looks like ford wants to give it the EVOS design which is the future design model for all of fords cars.

If they are goeing to do that to the outside why not the interior? Similar designs across all models ties them together.

Well what I'm guessing is that since all of this stuff is compatible with the Focus/Focus ST ECU, that they're probably testing out some version of the 2.0L EcoBoost motor from the ST in this mule.

It makes sense since there are rumors of a 330+ horsepower DI turbo 4-cyl for the base model Mustang.

Problem is sharing too much designs across the entire model line makes for a boring look. Look at all the new Audis and BMWs.. same sausage, different length :(

^^this. Lest we forget that Ford's new Mustang for the 80's was supposed to be the Probe. Ford has previously tried to share designs and many of those cars are now just memories (Escort/Tracer looking like the Taurus/Sable)

It's clearly a mustang dash and center console. Don't get too worked up though as ford engineers love to leak information like this just to get the fire burning. It more than likely is a test mule where they are only testing, not worried about asthetics. With the pressure for success that is on the ford engineers for redesigning the mustang I doubt they will dissapoint. I could be wrong though!

The interior bits are from a 2013 Fusion. The tach might be from something different. Either way, no reason to worry. This is FAR from production intent.

IIRC, that small screen is "MyFord", which is the more basic infotainment system. I had a 2012 Focus SEL with that. Wasn't half bad.

That's what I hope also.

Looks like a fusion steering wheel and truck radio, maybe?

Yep. I hope whatever the final design is, they integrate the steering wheel controls onto the spokes, not the pods. I can't imagine those are going to do well for someone driving on track, other than getting in the way of you holding the wheel.

I don't get the whole "Ford leak of disinformation" crap. Take your tin foil hats off...
