So today I finally got some time at work to go out on track and feel out the car. I have to say it was pretty damn awesome! I got to drive an LS on our other circuit a few months ago, a 2 mile 10 turn course. Today I was on the 20 turn 2 mile course, a track that favors light nimble cars like Lotus and Miata. The Boss handled the track great. I left the suspension at 2 just to get a feel for it. Next month I will change it to 5 and also switch my brake fluid to DOT4.
I only did 2 20 minute sessions, and I could feel some sponginess in the pedal, but honestly I expected that with the stock fluid. I spoke to another Boss owner and he recommended Hawk DTC 70 front and 60 rear. Any thoughts by others would be appreciated. Anyway, I couldn't be happier with my car.
Oh, and no one passed me today, something I haven't been able to say during an instructor session in a long time. One of my Vette driving buddies tried, actually 2 of them tried, but the checker flew before they got to me!
