It seems to be more prevalent on the 6.4. Some speculate it's due to poor oil circulation/pressure at idle and a combination of crap lifters. I don't know what the cause is, but there is a lot of stories with the same outcome: stuck roller on the lifter and a flattened cam lobe. Too many for me with the price the SRT commands. That said, it was still a badass daily driver! Back to the topic, as we are currently looking for a 'fun' smaller SUV: Wife is currently looking for a 'new' car, and she's wanting a fun SUV. We've test drove Jeep Grand Cherokees, Explorers and BMW X3s. The X3 M40i was a big surprise. I got to drive one on an autocross track at a BMW event--it blew me away. Jeep GC with the 5.7 would be our choice of their lineup. The Explorer, even in ST trim, was nice but boring and a bit too big for our needs. So far the X3 M40i is leading the charge. Going to drive an Audi SQ5 and possibly a Porsche Macan (this one just for fun...but who knows).
