I didnt really know where else to post this, so I guess I will post it here.

In the article where it says the Cobra will be shown soon, it also says that they are thinking about/working on other vehicles. What do you guys think they might be, I highly doubt SVT will just stick with the Mustang, and now that the L is dropped for a while.

I think they will bring out a Sport Compact to compete with the SRT-4, probably Turbo, maybe AWD (numerous SVT engineers have said that the SVTF project was one of their favorites, and there have been rumors floating around of an AWD Turbo SVTF).

I think also maybe a sport sedan that takes after the SVT Contour, I would really like to see this. Maybe take the new 500 and put some ponies under the hood. So, what do you guys think, do you think SVT is going to stick with the Mustang only or do you think they are going to work on other things, and if so...what?

I have always wanted them to make a turbo AWD Focus based on the Rally vehicle to compete with the WRX, STi and the Evo. Maybe that is why they just signed that big deal with Garrett turbos. I think it would be a pretty kick arse car.

Mustang and Lightning obviously. There have been quips about doing an SVT Fusion IN Ford interviews lately too. Its based on the Mazda 6 platform and can be made AWD(the Lincoln Zypher will be AWD capeable from day one). The duratec 35 coming up could forseeably be tweaked to 300hp, so it wouldn't be impossible.

As for Focus, it depends on what the fate of the next platform will be. They implied that the new euro version was not on the table, yet the Mazda 3 and Volvo S40 use it here. The Focus overseas is pretty incredible, pinninfarina is even doing a cabri version that is stunning. With the duratec in the mix, a new AWD system in escape that works with the duratec I4 and can give 80% to the rear, and mazda's use of turbos on them, they can just about do whatever they want. Most likely it will stay with the typical Euro names like ST and RS and not carry the SVT badge if they do it.

The fusion is a hell of a lot more capeable then the Contour could ever be

I would think the obvious choice would be the Fusion. Mazdaspeed is turbocharging the 6, maybe they can share some of those components.

I wouldnt bet on it? SVT hasnt done to well beyond the F150 and Mustang? The Fusion has way too much competition in its class. So we will have to see what it can do on its own. Ford dropped the Contour for poor sales. It slotted betwen its little car the Escort and the Tarus..... The Fusion is its natural replacement same slot ? Time will tell. The sad part is the Mondeo MKIII is about the same size as the fusion better looking IMHO and was European car of the year twice. Ford didnt throw in with it and has now waited to launch this? Whats up with the waiting? If they wanted in the market they should have never jumped out!
