Factory EFI Class Overview

Factory EFI is a new to 2014 heads up racing class at Gateway Motorsports Park. The class will be populated with vehicles running on electronic fuel injection with an OEM computer (powertrain control module). The OEM computer calibration can be modified to any extent to suit the vehicle combination. Aftermarket PCM flashes and chips are permitted. Two step, traction control, window switches, and WOT switches are permitted. Piggyback engine control systems and/or standalone engine control systems (FAST, BS3, AEM, etc) are strictly prohibited.

The class will be a heads up racing format on a .500 Sportsman tree. Two rounds of qualifying will establish a class ladder for elimination rounds. Each car in the class is guaranteed a minimum of (3) runs in this format. Drag radials or slick tires of any size are allowed. “Hard” street tires are prohibited on the driven wheels, in order to preserve the track surface.

Any engine combination, transmission, suspension, power adder(s), tire size, exhaust, and fuel is allowed. No minimum weight is established. The main requirements of the class are the OEM computer, factory glass windows, and factory chassis. The vehicle must move under its own power to the starting line and from the shutdown area. Towing is prohibited.

The first event for the Factory EFI Class is to be held on April 12, 2014. Gates open at 8:00am, racing starts at 9:00am. Additional event dates to be determined, based upon track availability and interest in the class.
