I just got my pinion seal replaced, again.
The 2001 owners manual suppliment says 80w-90 but the tag on the axle says 75w-140 which is what the dealer put in.

Which one is correct?

Thanks
Don

Hey Don !

it is the 75-140 stuff. It is the Ford Synthetic Stuff. It costs like $14 a bottle from a Ford Dealership.

Yep go by the tag!!

I had a fun little experience about 9 mos ago with the rear-end cover. Long story.... if you know it, I am sorry. I talked to Jim at Jdm (of course) and he helped set me straight.

Dont forget the friction modifier ! (stinky stuff, YUCK!) Just one bottle.

I guess he has a new cover coming... cant wait to see it.

MY THEORY NOW... When in doubt.... Call Jim. He is in my speed dial #1.

Later.

I thought about calling him, but I didn't want to bother him while he was on the road from Texas.

Anyways I will be seeing him on the 19th.
