Gear wine is caused by the pin on depth being setup to deep or to shallow, this means that the wear pattern is running off the end of the ring gear. It will clunk if the back lash is to loose. The reason a 410 will set up easier than a 373 or smaller is because the pinion is larger on the smaller number gear and is harder to center if you do not have the correct tools to set the pinion depth. A lot of people think that using the same shim that in under the pinion bearing is going to be the same for all gears but that is not true. You need to check the pinion depth every you change out the rear gear and check the wear pattern or it will make noise. There is a YouTube video of the guy at c.j. pony parts changing out a gear and not setting it up correct and at the end of the video you can see the wear pattern is very close to the end of the gear. I would bet it made noise. Sent from my SM-N920V using the svtperformance.com mobile app
