Help...96 Cobra Missfiring

Hi all,

My 96 Cobra just had a dealer rebuild due to carbon build up on the pistons making contack with the cylinder heads. It was all stock. When I got it back last week, there was a slight skip in the idle, at about 800 rpm. I had the local muffler shop install an off road X-pipe, and straight though magnaflows. The muffler shop installed some resistors in the rear oxy sensors and MIL eliminators. The rough idle and popping in the exhaust was much more noticable now. I installed new oxy sensors and Steeda MIL eliminators last night, to get rid of the butchered ones from the muffler shop, and reset the puter by disconnecting the battery over night. Same problem. No change...

I am trying to get it running right, so I can install my Diablo sport chip and CAI.

Whats next?

spark plug wires maybe

Good spot. I put these 8.5mm wires on about 2 years.
May have been damaged by the dealer during the rebuild.

Whats the best brand/fit these days?

I don't know if they're the best, but FRPP 9mm are popular. I have them and they fit well. The best fit would likely be stock wires though.

Edit: Try checking spark plugs too.

Just got back from the dealer, cyls 2 and 3 not firing.

My pretty red MSD 8.5mm silcone wires lasted two years...go figure.

Went to NAPA and bought some lifetime 8mm belkens (sp) and a set of NGK iridium plugs.

They will be going in first thing in the morning. If she smoothes out, she will get the CAI and Diablosport before lunch!

Tomorrow could be a very good day.
