If ur paying $1700 for a basic one coat ceramic coat then ur getting ripped off bro! The prep or detail before is all that really matter. If u don't know how to or don't want to detail it urself then pay $600-700 for a professional detail that does everything but the ceramic coat and apply urself. Wheels and tires add another 4-5 hours of work but I doubt ur doing that. A $1000 for ur truck sounds about right. Where are u getting $1700-2000 now? They charge u like a $1000 extra for a product that cost them $30 and maybe 1-2 extra hours of time applying the ceramic coat for 1 coat. All quality ceramic coat products do the exact same thing. The detailer doesn't have some "Special" ceramic coating. Ur paying for the PREP but they sucker u in with the Ceramic coat as tho its some really expensive product that takes 8-10 hours to apply..... It doesnt! It should be applied over a two day period and it's simple. Again, ceramic coating is cheap (less than $100) and takes no more than 1-2 hours to apply if only doing 1 coat. I apply 3-4 coats to mine so yea takes a little longer. Applying a ceramic coat is simply wiping it on in small sections one section at a time and waiting for it to dry. Anyone can do it. U need ZERO special skills or training to apply ceramic coat.
