Well... the stock 00' R caliper is designed for the stock cobra/GT rotor which is 332x28mm or 1.1" thick. You can the ATS caliper and stick to that but to me the performance upgrade is in the rotor which is what takes the heat... The XTS caliper using a GT500 which is 355x32mm or 1.25" thick rotor is the more ideal of an upgrade. I think the Chris Salmon Shim Kit works with both. A guy on the FB group "Clem Palacious" had some information on this on april 8th. The issue with the GT500 rotor is the fact you have to run 18" wheels. I find my 13" stoptechs to be extremely powerful and lock up my street tires very easy so my 13" brakes are not the limit... the tires are. My uncle told me he would still be able to lockup the brakes using 275/40/17 Hoosier A6 tires meaning the stoptechs still are not at their limit. My long term goal will be to buy another set of fenders and do flares and run 315 square setup with the Hoosier A7 tires. If you can stand on the brakes and the brakes lock (or abs engages)... you need better tires. If you stand on the brakes and your not stopping you need better brakes. They should compliment eachother "based on your vehicle and driving style"
