why is there foam at the front and rear of the intake.

would it not make more power to keep it cool ???

? Post pics, I dont recall seeing any foam inserts on my OEM intake when I replaced it.

Yes there is foam under my intake. I am assuming it is for noise but I would think it would run cooler with out it. I am sure Ford had a good reason for putting it there. Don't know.

Thats cool I knew you were talking about the boss but didnt think the intake would be that different. But I agree with the above. Probably something to reduce intake sound.

I have heard it was to help reduce the sound from the incoming air as it goes into the box.... But then we have the "sound" tube off the intake to increase sound...... It all is extra weight, ditch it..... As well as the quad Exhaust..... 10+ pounds right there too! Guess what my next exhaust mod is.....
