So I haven't driven an EcoBoost yet but I got to have a hayday with one today. I work at Gaudin Ford and have a customer that bought an Ecoboost. He's out of country and needs the car broken in (he's planning a big build) so I did what he wanted me to do. Go out, break in the clutch, go WOT and give it a good heat cycle.
I decided to take note of some of the gauges so here's my data per the LCD digital guage screen.
Peak boost at 20 psi
AFR was pretty linear to boost and saw as fat as 9.9 AFR (I would assume it would stop getting fatter but didn't)
Saw about 10.4-10.6 @ 15-17psi
About 11.1 @ 12-14psi
Cyl head temps were very low in relation to the 5.0 (I own a 5.0)
Eco saw 181-185 cyl head temps and a peak of 187 where the 5.0 dwells at 205-218 here in Vegas
IAT's were about 20degrees above ambient and that was about as good as it got, the 5.0 can get within 5 degrees of ambient
Oil temp on the eco did not go above half. Actually after a full pull still stayed below half
Oil temp in the 5.0 can get to half no problem
