SVT Shelby GT500
Is the Shelby GT500 going to need 700HP at the crank to keep up with a C6 Z06?

I think on stock or some PS2's or BFG KDW2's the Shelby can get to the low 1.8's 60' with a really good driver. I've done it. Tune, Pulley, CAI, Full Exhaust are 4 of the most common mods to any car and are not all that much. But the Mustangs have been one of the cars that has benefited the most from their adition.
Well actually you are making that out to be the best time a Shelby will ever run. A stock Shelby has run 12.1 on ET streets. How much is that mod? Add a tune and pulley or just a better supercharger and 11's are a short period away. I think on stock or some PS2's or BFG KDW2's the Shelby can get to the low 1.8's 60' with a really good driver. Add some awesome track conditions and it's very possible for this car to go 12.1,12.0 maybe an 11.99 bone stock. Not to mention all the power gains from just a tune. You are really pulling for straws to try count the roll bar like it really helps you go faster. Any car has to have one to run those times so its a wash. also the seats are a wash too because many times you can buy race seats and sell the stock leather seats and come away with some extra cash. I've done it. Tune, Pulley, CAI, Full Exhaust are 4 of the most common mods to any car and are not all that much. But the Mustangs have been one of the cars that has benefited the most from their adition. Maybe Evolution put that 8k in to their car but I would bet it wouldnt take that much to get a GT500 into the low 11's.
