I like it but as far as knocking out the competition or luring buyers from other manufacturers, it falls short imo. The only way it WILL NOT fall short would be if pricing started around 59K and max'd out around 79k with all the bells and whistles. Will this car outperform the latest gen ZL1? How about a c7z06? How about even a c6z06? Mid 3 seconds 0-60 is fast but it's pretty much a common number among the other sports cars it will compete with. Here are my thoughts...and trust me, as many of you know I have done this before...lol...I'm in the market, I make a list of 3 to 5 cars I want in this category. Here's my short breakdown (pretending I don't already own a C7Z with 3LZ). 1. Last gen viper (they go around 70-80k with NO MILES) 2. C7Z with 3lz a year or two old (really should be first on the list, but the viper is way more exotic) 3. ZL1 a year old fully optioned 4. C6ZR1 (an incredible value, but not many bells and whistles and not very good interior) 5. C7Zr1 used. The prices have finally started coming down on these. As you can see there isn't any FORDS on that list. This car finally brings them to the table BUT would you pass up any of the above for the new GT500? Maybe...only time will tell. Another thought is if this car costs 70k base, is it really twice as good as a 2018 GT Mustang??? The newest auto GT runs 0-60 in 3.9 and runs 12.0@118 stock in the 1/4 mile...costs around 34K. That's a lot of bang for buck! Throw in the fact that if you buy a used 2018 auto GT your paying in the mid to high 20's! ahhhhh….too much to think about...lol. I do applaud there effort though, it just took way too long!
