Is it possible to install the lower pulley alone, or do I need to purchase a chip at the same time for the recalibration of the motor? If you install the pulley by itself what improvements would I see with my stock 2001 L? Thanks for the input.

Yes, it's certainly 'possible'

but I surely wouldn't do that. IMHO, the/a chip is the 'brains'(started to say 'heart' but 'brains' makes more sense) of the entire system. The chip is more important than any larger pulley. The two togeather though, will make all the difference in the world as far as performance is concerned. Do yourself and your L a favor(if you want additional acceleration, speed, and better shifts) and get one of each--hell, I've got two fof each(LOL)!

Hey, I just got a 2001 and love it. What kinda chip and pully do you have, JDM? Do you have a upper or lower pully or both, what other mods do you have?
