Did anyone ever see how much the car sold for? I missed it.

I was told that if it has a VIN number of any kind that it could be registered in Texas. And as long as it passes inspection, all is good. It will be classified as a custom vehicle. And that can be driven. Other states may vary.

I was also told that if nothing else the engine block would have a build number if not a VIN. And that in Texas that would be enough to get a car registered.
