MAF screen

Question for you V-6 SHO experts. Is there any downside to removing the wire screen in the factory MAF sensor? The car seems to run better without it. It's a stock 94 MTX with a superchip.

not really. Just need to make sure you have a good filter. Thats its purpose is to filter anything that makes it past the air filter
