I had an 07.5 2500 Cummins 6.7 that I pulled a 32' toy hauler around with, and when I got rid of it in 2012 at 75k miles, it had never been to the dealer. I started looking at trucks again last October after putting up with SUV's the last 5 years, and found the same thing you did, the Fords are made from gold or something, and no one was willing to move much off of MSRP. I ended up getting a 2017 Ram 1500 Laramie that stickered for $52k for just under $39k with the 3.92 LSD, heated/cooled seats, leather, heated steering wheel, Nav, Alpine stereo (which is so worth the money), moonroof, tow package, etc. and it's been great so far. I love the power, the 8 speed auto, and the ride is the best out of the big 3 IMO as well. Can't really go wrong these days, so let the money do the talking.
