I received a call last week from my SVT Dealer who offerd me a Shelby GT500 at $20,000.00 over MSR. I told him that he could keep his car. He claims that 2 dealers sold their Shelby's for $40,000.00 and $45,000.00 over MSR.
Least we forget, this is only a car with 4 wheels and 2 doors !!!

Thats all a honda civic is too, but your forgetting the thing that differentiates the two. Its a car with 4 wheels, 2 doors and a 500 hp 5.4 liter Supercharged V8!!

Justifying a price gouge with the 500 HP # is ludicrous. Why not grab a used Terminator, spend about 1.2K on it and make over 500 HP.

I don't know about plenty. There may be a few here and there. I think most people will keep their terminators even after the prices have dropped some. Just my .02 cents worth.

Couldn't agree more. In one year or so, people will read these threads and realize how ridiculous all this talk about MSRP+ was.... Next year, I'll be looking for a used white/blue or red/white GT500. I'll be willing to pay around $35k tops. This is one arena where I welcome "sloppy seconds"!!!

or you could buy a nice fox body car for 4K, put 8K into the motor, 7K into a turbo and fuel and have a car that will own all of the mentioned for less than the cost of ownership of any of them.
