How-2-Wench,

Thank you so much for your thoughtful insight and helpfulness. By eliminating the forum for learning that we have built here, we can effectively "dumb down" the internet and its web forums to the lowest common denominator.

In other words, according to the rules of your world, if you're car ain't covered in porn chicks ain't nobody here wants to see it.

Therefore, please feel free to now return to downloading porn and dreaming of the day when you too might learn the secret to true salvation. I can tell you where I found it. I found that it only comes from helping another human being.

Best wishes to you in all your endevors.

SoCalBlk03, you forgot the part about dropping the nuts that hold the plug covers on somewhere down into the guts of the car...That's another reason why I can't check my plugs.

Then you have to try to jack the car up with a floor jack (which you neglected to give instruction on), and, when that doesn't work, you have to put it on a lift to find the nuts you dropped. That's another reason why I can't check my plugs.

Tetge,
That set of instructions is reserved solely for Ed.

For those that must know, in a previous dyno run the tech; Ed dropped the bolts that go to the coil cover into my headers. He tried to use a floor jack but couldn't get it to work. So he ended up having to use their lift so he could find the bolt he lost. Tetge and I got more than a chuckle out of watching this transpire.:dw:

What kind of nonsense is this? My 1st run has the 12 plugs, is all stock and doesn't foul the plugs. And yes, I checked them. They probably went to the 22's when they changed the computer calibration code along with knocking the HP down a bit.

It's not non-sense. Run a search. Plug fouling and bad cats was a known first run issue, and it is speculated that the issue was the reason for second run cars having the hotter plugs.

Oh, and I don't think there is any proof of the new codes knocking the HP down any. It's not like 1st runs are running 400 RWHP and 2nd runs are at 350. They both average around 360-370 stock, with the occasional 350 or 380/90.

If Ford sent out the second run Cobra's with new plugs should I change my fairly stock cars plug to the new ones? Conflicting answers. I have no pulley or chip.

I go between SVTP and Modularfords because the tech. info is 100%. I only have mild mods on my car, and I don't want to mess *anything* up as I am in the slow process of building now.

I make copies of all instructions, and I have done a lot of mechanical repairs in the past because the alternative was an expensive visit to a hillbilly "mechanic" and half ass work that needed to be fixed again anyway. I will continue to do so, screw some things up, and post for help. Unfortunately, these aren't old 302's or Slant 6's, so I will ask for help from time to time, I may reach a point where I can give advice.

My wife found the Terminator FAQ which is great.

The clutch post I asked for saved me a lot of grief, and I sent it to my Cobra club.

And I saved the plug instructions!

Information is like ammo, you can never have too much.

So to the flamer - Put on your Fubu gear, turn your hat sideways and Eminem down the road. First time I read a punk ass post like that on here, looks like the last!

Short answer is, if your plugs look fine, leave them alone. Stock, unless you are fouling, I wouldn't touch them.

Thanks

That is why I wait and ask for everything. Several people I know have pretty much FUBAR'd their cars from a reasonable driveability standpoint, or spent*way*too much money for crap that fails.

This is my first car with aluminum heads. I always read that you should use some never-seize on the new plugs your installing???? Makes for easier removal next time.
