Need a little help on rearend gear?

A buddy of mine bought some 3.90 rearend gears for his 89 gt. with the stock 8.8. Is there such a gear for the 8.8? We are having a lot of problems getting the pinion set right. Seems to be way to tight. I have done many 8.8 and never had this issue. He said the 3.90 for the 8.8 just came out. Any help? Thanks in advance!:shrug:

3.90 is most likely an aftermarket geat set, like from Strange Engineering, etc. Unless Ford Motorsport is now makin 'em.

Talk to a local garage, maybe they can give you a tip on setting the pinion!!!

Thats weird Ive never heard of those before.. I've heard of the 4:10, and 3:73.. wow I wonder if it is new..

yeah they are brand new Pro 5.0 and Motive performance make them.
