Need advice: '84 5.0 project

Hey guys, I just recently purchased an '84 mustang for my first project car. I'm kind of new to all this, and would like some advice on where to start? I'm not trying to build anything crazy, just a daily driver that I'd be able to take out auto crossing from time to time.

Well for an EFI car the norm is HCI, but for your carb motor, not to sure if the same applies. Better air flow always is the best way to start.
