Hi everyone, I am back in the mustang scene after about 20 years and just bought a 351 (now 383) powered mustang with a t-trim. The car is tuned (660 rwhp at 13lbs) with a meth injection system, which honestly makes me nervous. Has been this way for about 2000 miles but I am trying to avoid failure areas one of which is a meth pump or system failing and causing a meltdown. Seriously debating de-tuning the car to where meth is not needed. Which leads me to a few questions: 1) is it possible to tune the car without the meth to a fairly conservative tune, then just spray the meth to use as a cooking effect? That way in the event of failure, the tune is still safe? 2) right now the meth is actually spraying into the t-trim, exactly why I am not sure other than perhaps it ensures mixing (?). Is this common? I could not find anything from vortech as to whether this is even recommended. Any other ideas how I could reduce the risk of single point failures but still maintain power levels? Previous car I had (mr2) had a J&S safeguard which was great... but apparently the 351 block has no provision for a knock sensor. Thanks!!
