The bearings in the front of the Eaton are starting to go bad. They are making quite a bit of noise. So the car has been parked for a few weeks now. Needless to say its killing me. :( I am 99% sure I can rebuild the snout myself. I have the kit that I bought from ZZ Performance. The belt is off. The pulley is off. The oil is drained. All of the bolts are loosened. But that ONE bolt at the bottom..... I saw where someone else cut the head off and replaced it with a stud/washer/nut. Thats the route I want to go. But there's just not enough room for the blade of a reciprocating saw to move around. And I bought one that only travels 1/2". Apparently he did it. I seem to be marring up the parts around the bolt more than I am cutting into the bolt. I know some have cut the I/C manifold hose attachment about 1/2". I'd really rather not do that. But it really seems like about the only practical way to get this done. Has anyone else ever done this?
