Congrats man, I'll never forget the day my son was born, my experience was quite the opposite of yours. My son was 2 weeks away from being due, my wife was 1 day away from starting maternity leave, she was going to spend the time packing our bag and getting everything ready for him to come home. She went for her last checkup and they told her that her blood pressure was elevated and she needed to relax the rest of the day, and come back next day to recheck. She went back and they said its still high we need to induce you. So i get a phone call at work 2 weeks before my son is due saying "hey we are having a baby tomorrow, you should let your boss know". So I got home, we packed up and left for the hospital that night, they gave her the inducing drug at 10 pm and she was in a lot of pain all night, I don't think I slept any, she slept when they gave her drugs. The next morning my grandma came to the hospital and was sitting in the room, nurse comes in and said hey go ahead and step out we need to check and see how she is progressing. So grandma steps out, nurse checks and says "uhhh nevermind you are having this baby right now, grab the doctor". 15 minutes later I was holding my son. I walked out in the waiting room and my whole immediate family has showed up, my father in law says "hey daddy to be!" I said "nope, he's here!". It was an experience I'll never forget. We stayed for 2 more days afterwards to get the circumcision done and he has to pee afterwards before they will release him. That was at 8 am, stubborn little guy waited until 9 pm before he finally peed and we could leave, still stubbon till this day! lol
