This kit uses 2 waste gates. Hmmm...which gasket to use to mount the turbo? I chose this one, as there were a few small nicks and imperfections in the mounting surface, and this will absorb it. Here I am prepping the turbo for install. Chad told me that he uses NO gasket here, just high temp copper RTV. I will use this one, and see what happens! That way people can know what will and wont work! Here she is, mocked and ready. As well as mocked t-stat in upper hose! Everything was good, so I tightened the Turbo down. Before I hooked up the oil drain, I fed half a quart through the drain hose (slowly) to wash any metal shavings that may have gotten in the pan, to the bottom so they will come out when I change the oil. Connect the oil drain, and it is close! I don't want to take chances, so A: I turned the clamp to where the bolt part rests against the piping, to try and prevent melting in case the zip ties ever break. Here was my temporary solution: I started to mount the turbo support bracket, but....I ran into what I consider the "first snag"... I am running an U/D alt pulley (BFAP!!!) and an U/D Water Pump Pulley.....and I am also running my belt differently then just about anyone I have seen....well....it won't work for me. I am going to grind some material off, and hope that will do it! Just a heads up, before even starting to mock/mount the turbo....loosen all the bolts on each side of the housings, so you can swivel/rotate/clock them into position. Then when you get everything lined up, just snug a few down while mounted....and pull it out and tighten them all up! If you install the oil feed first like I did, you will need to remove a few of those bolts on the compressor housing to rotate it to the correct position. More to come!
