Starting to seriously consider selling my 2001 Lightning and moving on to something else. I bought the truck January 11, 2003 and it has lived in a garage ever since. It had 15993 miles then and has about 36k on the chassis now. Truck was featured in MM&FF's "Ford Performance Trucks" magazine in fall 2006.

Tribal Flamed 2001 Ford Lightning Pick Up - Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords Magazine

Engine:
The engine is an iron block, Darton MID sleeved, Big Bore (3.700) 358c.i. Custom 40cc CP Pistons, Oliver billet I-beam rods, forged crank, all ARP2000 hardware inside. Heads are 8 thread PI hand port and polish done by Kris Starnes of Champion Cylinder Heads. Comp Cams spec'd for the build. 120psi springs w/ titanium retainers.

Turbo:
The turbo set up is a one off build by Tracy of Speedfab Custom Tuning. Components are Precision PT88 turbo, 1500hp Liquid-to-Air Intercooler with an 8 gallon tank in the bed, JGS 50mm waste gate, Procharger race blow-off, and a TurboSmart eBoost2 controller. Exhaust side is 4" stainless downpipe into 4" aluminum piping. All v-band. (The exhaust is not currently finished. This will be done prior to sale) Cold side utilizes Wiggins clamps which are good to 120 psi and 400 degrees. (it doesn't get any better than these) Wilson 90mm TB, hand built sheet metal upper intake manifold. The lower manifold "tub" has been cut and a 3/8" aluminum plate welded on to reduce manifold volume.

Trans/drivetrain:
Huges Performance built TH400, reverse manual valve body, no brake, w/ Hurst billet shifter. Converter done by Alan Pope of Alan Pope Performance. I had the converter built specifically for the set up and it works flawlessly. It also has a sprag as per my wishes to keep the truck as streetable as possible. JW Ultrabell and JW "The Wheel" flexplate. Precision Shaft Technologies (PST) custom two piece driveshaft w/ carrier bearing. (I wanted a strong shaft)

Appearance:
Paint done in 2006 by Paul Holman of Visual FX. Visual FX Custom Paint and Body- Automotive Painting, Body Work, Restoration, Fabrication. Paint is still in near perfect shape as the truck rarely gets driven and stays in the garage. The seats and interior remains mostly stock and is in near mint condition. The dash "shell" was filled, sanded, and painted black. There are some billet accessories throughout. All power seats, mirrors, windows function perfectly. Keyless entry is still installed and works flawlessly. The truck currently has the Bogart GT series 3-piece wheels. M/T 295/65-15 radials out back and M/T Sportsman up front.

Fuel System:
I designed the fuel system to be the perfect street/strip setup. It utilizes two fuel cells with switching valves. One 16 gal. for pump and a 5 gal. for race fuel. Both feed lines feed to a "Y" block and then into The Aeromotive Eliminator pump. The fuel rails are handmade from -10 rail stock and are designed to hold the COPs in place. Injectors are flow matched 83 lb. Siemen Dekas. Lines are all stainless braided and solid aluminum -10 feed line and -8 returns.

The engine and trans have 3 1/4 mile passes and about 600 miles on them. The truck makes around 700rwhp on 14psi and a conservative pump gas tune. I've only had it to the track once on 10psi and it went 10.89@130 with a 1.75 60'. That was the shakedown pass. With a transbrake on the power it makes currently, it should run low 10s at around 135mph. I have not completely tuned this truck for race gas yet. I wanted to drive it and enjoy it meanwhile working the bugs out of it. With 16.5psi it made 804rwhp. On c16 and 24-25psi, it should make around 1000rwhp. Keep in mind, that's through a TH400 that cannot be locked on the dyno. With a few tweaks here and there, this will run well into the 9s. With some weight reduction, who knows? Get enough weight out of it and it could be an 8 second ride without much work.

The truck is an excellent balance of show and go. It has literally won it's class in every car show I've ever put it in along with plenty other awards. You can get in it and cruise to the show or flip the switch and destroy 99.9999% of what's on the street. The truck puts a smile on my face everytime I drive it. I actually can't believe I am typing this ad up to be honest...lol.

There's a ton I've left out, I'm sure. I am not in need of selling this nor am I in a hurry to so I'm not open to stupid offers. Open to trades. Would mostly consider a Terminator as trade but, show me what you have. NO boats or motorcycles.

Asking $30,000.00 or trade for a Terminator

I have plenty more pics and can send them upon request. Thanks for looking.

I really want to get into a nice Terminator so I'm cutting the price way down as I've found a few I really like.

$30k takes it the way it sits or trade me your 03/04 Cobra.
