Some history regarding this issue. On the first detection of pinging I contacted tuner (Dec 2015) specifically asking about timing and 91 fuel. This went nowhere. Since that day, I have been paranoid of damage and have only gone WOT with music off/windows up so I can hear any ping if present. The car has not had any nitrous, been to the track, or any long multi-gear pulls since. Next detection of ping was Oct 2016 (once temps got below 100) so I pulled -3* to stop ping, contacted tuner again and was able to get one revision (although not usable). Sent logs but can't get a response so I have selected a local tuner. With timing at -3* I detected another ping event, so I pulled 2* more to prevent and car hasn't been WOT since. I lift immediately at any sign of ping, so the car was never run at WOT with audible pinging. I looked at pistons 5-8 and there are signs of detonation. I can easily pull more timing. Would the Vampire help at this point?
