Check behind these for rust, especially if the quarters are rusted out. Also lift the carper mat in the trunk that covers the spare tire and look on each side about 4 inches past the spare tire opening for signs of rust. Then turn the front tires sharp to the left then right and when the tire is pointed in at the front, look in at the rear of the tire at the bottom of the strut tower where the tower is attached to the unibody frame section and check for rust there. Also check the bottom of the radiator cradle for rust and being bent or beaten in from running into parking lot cement blocks and finally, make sure to check the rear "torque boxes" where the rear lower control arms attach since these rust out first on the convertibles.
Definitely make that purchase, the car will only gain in value as a GT will take much longer to do the same. Advise on the body, I don't know where you are located but look at the rear of the rear wheel wells right behind the tires and you will see a square rubber block suspended there on each side. I hope this helps?
