Poor Man's Supercharger

This is a picture from the December issue of 5.0 Mustang. A guy wired his electric leaf blower into the car's electrical system and hooked it up to the induction system. 5.0 Mustang says it puts out 12 psi.

that would take so much freaking juice to run though that he would have SERIOUS charging issues. That is why an electric blower has not been manufactured yet. kewl for him if he got it to work, but I think I will stick with belt driven myself.

With the parasitic loss for running 2 alternators that leaf blower just doesn't have the mustard for the job.

I'd expect to see that on a Ricer, not a Stang!
At least its better than those vent motors people are selling on Ebay claiming to be electric supercharges...

Bosch is working on a version of this. well, a less agricultural version. You could put a switch on it so it is used only as needed.
