Rear end gearing

What will the rearend gearing be? I read it was a 3.31 - doesn't that seem a bit tall. Hell, it should at least be 3.55 like the 03/04 Cobra.

I think they are putting in a shorter 2.97 1st gear. That will make up for the 3.31 taller gear in the axle.

This trans is very similar to the Chevy Z06 Corvette. If that's so; 2nd and 3rd gear will be shorter, too.

yeah i wish. the z06 trans is actually a rear mounted transaxle. if the gt500 had that plus a 5.0 instead of that boat anchor 5.4, it would have a damn near perfect weight balance and be a world class handler.

If it ends up as heavy as everyone thinks I'll be putting in at least 3.70 gears even with the shorter 1st gear.
