So I just purchased a 2010 GT500. The previous owner had a lethal off road x-pipe with Pype bomb exhaust. This setup is too loud for me but most of all the exhaust note is terrible. It has a nasty and raspy note and crazy amounts of popping under deceleration. I would like to bring the volume down a notch as it is too loud, but I want to keep the off road x-pipe.
I don't mind a good volume exhaust but I want a "clean" sound and no popping and no raspiness. What axleback out there can tame the off-road x-pipe and eliminate my rasp and popping but still offer a great exhaust note? I was considering the Borla axleback for the 2010 for $500 from american muscle but I am not sure it would cure my issue. Anyone have any experience here with this issue and recommend a product? Thanks!
