just got back from a drive in 100* heat after swapping my stat with the reische 170. siphon pumped the contents of both coolant tanks, swapped stat with no mess, put 2 bottles of WW in the motor side and 1 in the IC, filled both with distilled water. easy 15-20 minute job with about a needle-width drop on the factory gauge from normal. no tune yet for fan change but it is coming, until then most of my driving is hwy anyhow.

I would check with who ever tunes your car man. 170 is cool for a t stat especially on a newer car.

There are many temperature sensors that dont allow the car full timing and optimal boost and fuel curves, Im sure they can be adjusted with a tune, but I'd check it out before driving the car any extended periods of time.

you dont want to F up a brand new $60 + K car and have a voided warranty if something fails because you put a thermostat in the car.

The computers in these cars arent like fox body cars. They arent real forgiving.
