Did the quarter mile thing for a while and had a blast but I’ve always wanted to get on a road course. There are two in my area. My question is what happens if you get into an accident on the course? What if you get rear ended, who’s fault, who pays? What if you just lose control and nail a wall, bush or just mess up the underside of the car in the infield? Does your regular auto insurance kick in or do you need to get special insurance. What part does the road course take, race at your own risk?
What should I look for at the course? Special certificates, rescue crew etc
Car prep? Remove spare tire and all other extra stuff. Which fluids need to be changed before and after? etc
Mods I want to do before I go are front brake air duct kit, braided brake lines to calipers and more aggressive brake pads. I figure around $250 for this stuff. Is it better spent somewhere else?
