saleens vs 01/03 cobras

how do the saleen mustangs compare to the 2000R the 2001 and 2003 cobra's

i know they are up tehre in price, but i dont know how performance wise they stack up?:rolling:

A standard S-281 Saleen will get walked on by all of the Cobras you've listed, because basically its a standard GT engine. If you're talking a supercharged S-281, it would likely edge out the 01 Cobra, but still get beat by the 2000 R and the 2003 s/c Cobra. The Saleen S-281 Extreme is a maximum tuned supercharged 4.6 SOHC and might give the 00R and 03 a run for their money.

The difference between a Saleen and Cobra is the DOHC, 4 valve-per-cylinder heads. The Saleens use the GT's two-valve heads. The S281-SC is rated at 360 BHP, where the 00R and '03 Cobras are basically putting that to the wheels...wouldn't be close (drivers being equal)

I'd rather have the Saleen based on Cobra platform. Their out there? So ya get best of both worlds, 4V, sweet body kit, fat rims, nice suspenision, and interior. Well I don't have that much dough....

Yeah, they made about 15 Saleen Cobras in '99 as well as in '01. It would be interesting to know if Saleen will do the same with the '03's. That would be one sweet car.
