Shifter vibration

Anyone else have their shifter vibrating(really rough feeling) and only in third gear. Goes away if i keep pressure against(towards radio) the shifter. I only have 240 miles on it but am going to wait a little while to see if it goes away.

Don't worry about it. 3rd seems noisier than other gears-- has to do with combos of gears and shafts.


Don't lean on the shifter- it can wear out the synchronisers if you do it a lot.

wow. i have this SAME exact problem.. it was one of my first posts about these cars. Can't say much about it. I've gotten pretty used to the fact it's going to keep vibrating while I'm in third. It only does it in the lower rpms. I got the car used, and it had 1500 miles on it. Maybe with age it'll go away. Don't worry, nothing bad has happened.. yet

I had the same rattle, about the time I decided to do something about it, it stopped all by itself and i had not even thought about it until I read this post, great now its going to start again ;-)
